"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."
From "A Visit from St. Nicholas;" also known as "The Night Before Christmas." Originally published, anonymously, on December 23, 1823 in the Troy, New York Sentinel. Later it was acknowledged to be written by Professor Clement C. Moore.
So the poem and this bit of Lebanon heritage may have been from the same era.
